Ignition Interlock

COURT ORDERED INTERLOCK

After your conviction, if a judge issues you a Restricted Operator’s License (ROL) that requires the installation of an ignition interlock device, you will need to contact the ASAP office to enroll in the program and have your referral sent to the interlock company for installation.

*You must install the interlock device within 30 days of obtaining your ROL, as required by the court order.

* YOU MAY NOT DRIVE AT ANY POINT WITH THE ROL UNTIL THE INTERLOCK DEVICE IS INSTALLED IN YOUR VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.*

To ensure that your referral and installation process goes smoothly, please have the following information ready to provide to your ASAP case manager:

• Vehicle registration: Make, model, year, license plate number, and registered owner’s name
• Interlock company: The name of the interlock company you wish to use. The company must be selected from the approved list of companies listed below.
• ASAP authorization: ASAP must send the authorization to the interlock company before you can have the device installed.

DMV ORDERED INTERLOCK

If your DMV Compliance Summary states that you are required to install an ignition interlock device and you have already completed ASAP, you must have the device installed for 12 months before you can obtain a full driver’s license. You may enroll with any ASAP office to complete this requirement.

To ensure that the installation process goes smoothly, please have the following information ready to provide to the ASAP office:

• Vehicle registration: Make, model, year, license plate number, and registered owner’s name
• Interlock company: The name of the interlock company you wish to use. The company must be selected from the approved list of companies listed below.
• ASAP authorization: ASAP must send the authorization to the interlock company before you can have the device installed.
• Payment: A minimum payment of $300.00 is required upfront for the first six months, or you may pay the full $600.00 for the 12-month period. This equals a $50.00 monthly monitoring fee. The fee may change if interlock violations occur.
