Can I take my classes online?

No. All classes must be completed in person. There are no exceptions.

How will I be notified if my class is canceled for inclement weather or other reasons?

In the event of inclement weather, the front page of our website will be updated. In the event of an emergency cancellation (such as instructor illness), clients will be emailed or called directly. Please make sure you have an updated email address and phone number on file at all times.

I have never had any convictions involving alcohol or drugs. Why am I being told by the DMV to complete an Intervention Interview with ASAP?

The interview is required for individuals who have been convicted of driving while suspended more than twice within a certain period of time. This requirement is not related to drugs or alcohol. This is a service that ASAPs complete for the DMV outside of DUI probation.

Virginia has a hold on my license due to a DUI conviction, but I reside in another state. What do I do?

Please contact our office at (276) 679-9337 and have a copy of your Virginia DMV Compliance Summary ready to send to us. You can also visit our Out of State tab for more information

I got a restricted license from the court. When can I drive?

The answer varies based on the type of conviction you received and the requirements of your case. Please contact our office for an answer based on your specific case requirements.

How long are my VASAP classes?

This varies from case to case and will be explained at the time of your intake based on your individual case requirements.

I was returned to court for noncompliance. I do not know when my court date is. What do I do?

You can contact the court you were sent back to or visit the court website for more information:  http://www.courts.state.va.us/

I received a letter from the DMV stating that my suspension will be ending soon, but my completion has not been entered. What do I do?

The DMV sends this letter to all clients approximately three months before the end of a suspension or restricted license period. ASAP cannot update the DMV with your completion until the final 30 days of your probation period. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact your case manager.

I am trying to install the interlock, and I am being told that ASAP needs to send my vehicle information to the interlock company. What should I do?

You will need to provide our office with the following information:

  • Vendor choice
  • Vehicle information: Make, model, year, VIN, and license plate number
  • A copy of your green restricted license

Please note: If you are a multiple offender, your restricted license paperwork may be white instead of green.

Why was I assigned to a treatment assessment?

Clients requirements vary for a multitude of reasons. If you are required to complete an assessment, it becomes a requirement of your ASAP participation and completion. Completing an assessment does not mean you will be automatically recommended to complete counseling services with your chosen provider.

Will my completion be entered with the DMV as soon as I finish my class?

We make every effort to enter completions in a timely manner. Please contact your case manager to verify that your completion has been entered before making an appointment with the DMV.
